2018 Community Grants...

Tuesday 5th February was a proud day for the Thaxted Fayre Trust​ as we presented cheques totalling £2,000 to local community projects via our 2018 Community Grants Scheme.  Last year's fundraising events enabled us to make awards to:

£500 awarded to the 1st Thaxted & Carver Scouts

​

Represented by Steve Turrell, Denise Hubbard and Mick Mullis

​

The award will go towards the purchase of a new minibus.

£500 awarded to The Windmill Preschool

​

Represented by Kath Shanks. 

 

The award will  help support the £1200 needed to purchase and build storage for the children’s outdoor toys and play equipment, used to enrich their learning experiences.

£500 awarded to the Thaxted Youth Club

 

Represented by Rita & Ray Williams and Karen Frost.

 

The award will help support their annual subsided trip to Stubbers Outdoor Sports Adventure, a weekend away for the young people of Thaxted.

£250 awarded to Thaxted Lecture Society

​

Represented by Alison Howells. 

 

The award will purchase a protector to allow PowerPoint presentations to be delivered to members.  The Society are also happy to make the equipment available to other Thaxted groups and projects.

£100 awarded to Thaxted Twinning Association

 

Represented by Mike and Sue Lindsell. 

 

The award will pay for the summer twinning visit with the St.Vrain residents over the Thaxted Morris weekend in June.

We are also very grateful to everyone who supported our events during 2018, making these awards possible. 

£150 awarded to Thaxted Garden Club

 

Represented by Angela Stephenson.

 

The award is set to be used to source speakers to aid the education of their members in the development of gardening skills.
