Thaxted Fayre Trust are thrilled to announce details of events we've planned to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June, having been approached by Thaxted Parish Council last year to bring the community together.
It all begins with our Beacon Lighting Ceremony on Thursday 2nd where we will be one thousands of beacons to be lit by communities throughout the UK and 54 Commonwealth cities at the same time. Join us in the field adjacent to John Webb's Windmill from 9pm to hear the Thaxted Singers perform before we light the beacon and celebrate the start of the weekend with a fireworks display.
On Friday 3rd we are hosting a music event with Thaxted Live in our marquee on the Recreation Ground from 7:30pm. We have a great line up of fantastic local talent kicking off with Will Stockle & his band, followed by Chelsea Afton Taylor singing a selection of Motown and soul covers. We then take a trip back in time with the 'Back To The Eighties Band UK', a six piece band performing classic hit songs from the 1980's. Not to be missed!

Saturday 4th sees the return of the Thaxted Fayre & Fun Dog Show a fun filled day out for all the family. This year we are thrilled the Thaxted Morris Men will be opening the event so be there at 11am for that!
Stay with us as the entertainment continues through to 4pm. Don't forget to bring your four legged friends as we have a fabulous fun dog show starting at 1pm with lots of different classes and a few games. This is all along side local stall holders and much more.
Join us back on the recreation ground on Sunday 5th from 12 noon for a lazy afternoon of live music for our Picnic in the Park. We have a great line-up from Miss Jones Jazz Singer, acoustic guitarist Martin Black, local trio LSP and vocal performances from the talented Ben Smith and Chelsea Afton Taylor who brings our event to it's close at 5pm.
Thaxted Fayre Trust will be providing a licensed bar at all the events on the recreation ground alongside other food & drink providers; The Giddy Up Bar & Tea Cup, The Bagel Queen and Lizzy's Lunch Box. So we have everything you need to relax and enjoy the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. We hope to see you there!
